To legally marry in Australia (yes...even if you just want to elope in Tasmania)
- you need a Marriage Celebrant or Religious Celebrant
- You need to be 18 years or older. (exemptions apply)
- You need to lodge your notice of intention to marry no more than 18 months before your wedding date, and no less than 30 days prior with a Wedding Celebrant (or Religious Celebrant). This includes if you want an elopement.
- You need to prove your identity - Have you torn the house apart? looked in every safe spot you might have put it.. ….and still can’t find it? contact Births Deaths and Marriages (Services Tasmania or relevant state authority)
- Birth Certificates -
- Australian passport
- Overseas passport
- Photo identification
- Death Certificate if previous marriage ended by death of your former partner
- Divorce Certificates. You can still lodge your notice of intent even if your previous divorce is pending, but you cannot marry until the divorce is finalised.
- Overseas divorce or death of partners- proof of divorce or annulment, proof of death certificates of previous partners are required.

West Coast Prices from $1,070.00
I travel regularly to the gorgeous West Coast - including Tullah, Strahan, Zeehan, Queenstown - Arthurs River and beyond. Happy to chat
Accomodation may be charged.
North - North East from $1,070.00
I travel regularly to Bridport, Scottsdale, St Helens, Bay of Fires, Freycinet and Swansea and beyond. Accomodation may be charged.

Whether you want to Elope at home or you are planning to travel and Elope in Tasmania...
when you want to share the moment of your vows just with each other you need a marriage celebrant who can arrange this.
or you want a stress-free, romantic, and private ceremony - sometimes before their public ceremony
Or perhaps you just don’t want to or need to tell anyone.
An elopement ceremony is conducted with minimal or no guests in attendance (only witnesses) and me - your wedding celebrant
An elopement still requires the lodgement of your Notice of Intention to Marry to be lodged a minimum of 30 days before your wedding date and no more than 18 months.
JUST WANT IT TO BE ABOUT YOU.... BUT HAVE PHOTOS TO COMMEMORATE YOUR DAY.

In conjunction with Daydream Photography I can offer you a wedding package which includes myself as your Celebrant... and Daydreams Benita as your photographer for one hour of photos., and your registered marriage certificate is included in the price (BDM fee included)

We usually meet at my office in Railton for our first appointment
A very casual meeting, where we can talk weddings…No need to dress up or be nervous. Come as you are...
Interstate or Distant? - Want to elope in Tasmania - its easy!
We can overcome distance issues and arrange lodgement of your paperwork easily - I can explain how easy it is.
We will prepare the paperwork.

Payment of your lodgement and booking fee is required with lodgement of your notice. .
As your marriage celebrant I will give you a book of ideas and suggestions for you to select readings, poems, and vows for you to choose from or for inspiration if you are wanting to write your own vows.
I send you home with a questionnaire for you to sit down together and give me some information about your relationship... so I can then write your love story.
We will have to meet at least once more before the wedding.
We finalise the draft and sign your declaration of no legal impediment and catch up on all the wedding goss.

Do you really want a Wedding rehearsal? or a read-through?
I don’t require one but will attend one if YOU want one
Please note:
(for any weddings of any distance from my office an alternative address can be agreed on or extra travel will be charged)
On the day
I provide a PA System for Ceremony only. (Weather and venue pending)
I greet you at the alter on your wedding day and perform your Ceremony in front of your witnesses and guests.
I pronounce you
LEGALLY married.
